Doug MacPhee learned this marvellous strathspey back in the 60s when he was living in Boston and practicing with Angus Chisholm. Niel Gow Junior was the grandson of Niel Gow. he was Nathaniel Gow's son. The Earl of Dalhousie’s Happy Return is another of his tunes. (both are found in The Cape Breton Scottish Collection).
