The Bloom of Youth (aka Tansey's Favourite) is a reel first published in O'Neill's Collection. The setting above is a transcription from Sligo fiddler Paddy Killoran. Paddy was a great dance player who lived in New York for the latter half of his life. In the States he had a dance band and during the 1930s he made a number of influential 78 records. On one of those discs he called this tune Tansey's Favourite. It also went by that title on Celtic Colours Vol 13 where it was recorded by Gay and Sean McKeon
