Swinging on Hoime was recorded by Buddy MacMaster on Judique on the Floor. The composer, pianist Joan MacDonald Bowes was originally from Cape Breton but spent most of her life in the Detroit area. In addition to her own recording she played on The Five MacDonald Fiddlers LPs.
