Johnny Wilmot composed
this tune in the late sixties.Elmer Briand was emamoured
by so Johnny named it for him. A few weeks later Elmer
responded with a melodically related tune, Johnny
Wilmot's Fiddles.
On the Celtic
Colours compilation, Ceilidh
2000, the
Scottish group Daimh recorded this tune in medley
titled Welcome ot Scotsville. That medley includes three
Cape Breton tunes including two from from
Brenda
Stubbert's Collection.
Due to a communication problem during production, the
above tune wasn't listed (it was simple called Irish
Reel ) in the CD notes)
